the history
The Drover’s Grind Building was built in 1818 and has been home to several different businesses and has served thousands of individuals.
As far back as history will tell us, the first business to run in our building was The Farmers and Drovers Hotel. First owned by George Dreibelbis, later bought out by John F. Rentschler, The Farmers and Drovers Hotel was home to many travelers, blue collar workers, and every day individuals from the town.
Since then, the building has been home to different hotels, restaurants, bars and dance halls.
AND NOW...
Today, we’re still serving the travelers, workers and every day individuals. Though there’s no longer boarding at the old hotel, we still want you to feel at home when you’re visiting The Drover’s Grind.
We’ve carefully selected local vendors to provide us with the best coffees, teas, and pastries around for our customers. We’re proud to support our community, as all of our vendors are all local, small businesses just like us. Local economies thrive when the businesses in the community thrive. So join us in welcoming a new era to one of Centreports oldest historic buildings.
